My piece for trumpet and electronics is building steam...
We will have a couple of premiers in Germany and France in March by the great Grahm Ashton, and the piece is one of three finalists in this year's American Modern Ensemble's composition competition.

I was so happy about the way things turned out at our cd release last night I got a speeding ticket on the way home.

I may also have been very excited by the revelations which I am experiencing bi-weekly at the AGNI YOGA discussion group at the Roerich Museum.

I had the pleasure of attending (and honor of meeting) a concert of the music of Steve Stucky last night. I felt an immediate connection with his brilliant use of the most basic musical elements of pitch, harmony and timbre, rhythm and texture.
The American Modern Ensemble is in it's first season, and they have chosen a great space in the Tenri Cultural Institute to feature some of America's finest living composers.
Amazing players and a luminous composer. I feel lucky to be alive today.

Well, not to toot my own horn, but I did just recieve my first degree (BMU in composition) from the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Music, summa cum laude.
Congratulations to all the grads!
