Out here on the San Fransisco coast with the Sway Machinery (miss you Stu!), looking forward to a day with Gus and Troy in the Park, and a night of turning the place on its head with this un-containable music...

From a Friend - January 5, 2008

Dear artist friends,
You all help the world breathe a little easier and I'm glad that when you were young you followed your soul and not the warnings and practical advice you received. I hope 08' is a great year for you in your
respective mediums.
Bill

This is from a great teacher, a great American, and strong supporter of the creative human
tendencies.

This week and beyond... - August 13, 2007

I am so focused on our workshop with Bill T Jones and searching for a home for the fall, I have fallen behind on posting all of my performances.

As of now, September 4th at Zebulon for the PMT is all you need to know as far as where and when for me.

Oh, and I will be conducting a piece on the 30th of September, which I will post lots of details on soon.

Have a great week!

Almost Home - July 29, 2007

My last trip over seas this year has found me in the UK for a set at WOMAD, the largest "world music" festival of the year, and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for a little hang with the lady.
Steph and I collaborated on the music for her show, "Bomber's Row", and I provided musical assistance for another NYC-spun show, "Spawn And Die", so this is a fine way to wrap up the touring year.
See you in New York!

Gone for now... - May 14, 2007

I will miss NY so much, I cannot even say. I will however return in July for good, so take care the place for me!

Anitbalas has 5 days down here to remind people to dance and not to sleep on our jobs as citizens.
Straight to California fromn here, with not a lot of NYC in the near future...

From MLK on MLK Day, from Why I Oppose the War In Vietnam, NYC, 1968 (paraphrased for 2007) - January 15, 2007

We still have a choice today: nonviolent coexistence or violent coannihilation. We must move past indecision to action. We must find new ways to speak for peace in {The Middle East} and justice throughout the developing world, a world that borders on our doors. If we do not act, we shall surely be dragged down the long, dark, and shameful corridors of time reserved for those who possess power without compassion, might without morality, and strength without sight.

Now let us begin. Now let us rededicate ourselves to the long and bitter, but beautiful, struggle for a new world. Shall we say the odds are too great? Will our message be that the forces of American life militate against {the world's arrival as a whole people}, and we send our deepest regrets? Or will there be another message -- of longing, of hope, of solidarity with their yearnings, of commitment to their cause, whatever the cost? The choice is ours, and though we might prefer it otherwise, we must choose in this crucial moment of human history.

From Phillip Berrigan on MLK Day - January 15, 2007

...In one of his last public statements, Berrigan said,

The American people are, more and more, making their voices heard against Bush and his warrior clones. Bush and his minions slip out of control, determined to go to war, determined to go it alone, determined to endanger the Palestinians further, determined to control Iraqi oil, determined to ravage further a suffering people and their shattered society. The American people can stop Bush, can yank his feet closer to the fire, can banish the war makers from Washington D.C., can turn this society around and restore it to faith and sanity.
